Cookies & Similar Technologies Policy

Effective: August 14, 2025

Last Updated: August 14, 2025

This Cookies & Similar Technologies Policy (“Cookies Policy”) explains how JB Wealth Advisors, LLC (“JBW”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) uses cookies, pixels, SDKs, tags, local storage, and related technologies (collectively, “cookies”) on jbwealthadvisors.com (the “Site”). JBW is an SEC‑registered Internet Investment Adviser that delivers algorithmic, web‑only educational outputs (your Asset Allocation Score) and, if you request it, an optional introduction to unaffiliated registered investment advisers (“Participating Advisers”).

This Cookies Policy applies to all pages of the Site, including the Score experience and the referral flow. For how we handle personal information more broadly, please see our Privacy Policy (incorporated by reference). Our cookies practices support the online‑only delivery model—all advice is provided through the Site, not by humans

1) What are cookies and similar technologies?

  • Cookies are small files placed on your browser or device that store information.
  • Pixels/web beacons are small pieces of code that let us and our partners read/write information to measure usage and, in some cases, to support advertising.
  • Local storage/SDKs are browser or app mechanisms to store identifiers and settings.
Depending on their type, cookies may be session (deleted when you close the browser) or persistent (remain until they expire or you delete them).

2) What information do these technologies collect?

Cookies and similar technologies may collect information such as IP address, device and browser type, unique identifiers, referring/exit pages, pages viewed, time stamps, and approximate location derived from IP. When used for advertising/analytics, third parties may receive or associate these identifiers with your activity on this and other sites. See Sections 4–5 for your choices.

3) Types of cookies we use (and why)

A. Strictly Necessary (cannot be switched off)

Enable core Site functions (page navigation, security, load balancing, fraud prevention). Without these, the Site will not work properly.

B. Functionality/Preferences

Remember your settings (e.g., prior steps or inputs during a session) to improve your experience.

C. Performance & Analytics

Help us measure and improve the Site (e.g., aggregate statistics about traffic patterns, feature usage, and error diagnostics).

Examples of partners we may use: Google Analytics/Tag and similar analytics tools.

D. Advertising & Cross‑Context Analytics (“Ads & Analytics”)

Help us measure the effectiveness of our marketing and may be used to show or measure cross‑context (interest‑based) ads. Under some state laws (e.g., California), our use of these technologies may be deemed a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. See Section 5 to opt out.

Examples of partners we may use: Google Ads/Tag, Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag.

E. Diagnostics/Session Replay (may be implemented)

If enabled in the future, tools that capture limited interactions (e.g., clicks, scrolls) solely to debug and improve the Site’s usability. We will update this Cookies Policy if we deploy them.

Scope note: These technologies may appear on any page, including the Score and the referral flow, to support measurement and Site operations.

4) How we use cookies with our online‑only services

  • Operate and secure the Site so we can provide your automated Score and related emails without human intervention.
  • Measure usage and performance to maintain an online‑only delivery model and to evidence web‑based delivery.
  • Facilitate advertising and outreach about our Site (Ads & Analytics, Section 3D).
  • Optional introductions: If you opt in to be referred, we share your referral details at your direction with Participating Advisers; this disclosure is not treated as a cookie‑based “sale/share.” See our Privacy Policy for details.

5) Your choices

A. California (and we honor for all U.S. visitors) — Opt‑Out of Sale/Sharing Because Ads & Analytics may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, you can opt out by using our “Do Not Sell My Info” link in the Site footer (leads to our notice + form), or by emailing privacy@jbwealthadvisors.com. We process requests as soon as feasible and no later than 15 business days, and instruct applicable third parties to honor your choice. (See Privacy Policy for full details.)

B. Opt‑Out Preference Signals (e.g., GPC)

Where required by law, if your browser sends a recognized opt‑out preference signal (such as Global Privacy Control), we treat it as a valid opt‑out for that browser. (We recommend enabling the signal on each browser/device you use.)

C. Browser & device controls

You can block or delete cookies via your browser settings (usually under Privacy/Security). You may also reset mobile advertising identifiers in your device settings. If you block cookies, some features of the Site may not function.

D. Third‑party choices

Many ad/analytics providers offer their own opt‑outs. Please see their websites for details. Using these tools does not replace submitting our Site opt‑out in Section 5A.

Reminder: Your opt‑out is typically browser‑ and device‑specific. If you clear cookies, change browsers, or use a new device, you may need to repeat your choices.

E. Disabling cookies

If you do not agree to the use of these cookies, you may disable them by following the instructions for your browser described at http://www.allaboutcookies.org/manage-cookies/. If you would like to opt out of Google Analytics cookies, please do so at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Please be aware that some of our services may not function if you disable cookies. If you experience any problems resulting from deleted cookies, you should contact your web browser provider.

If you disable cookies, performance and functionality will be affected. If you wish to delete, disable, or re-enable cookies, you may do so through your browser as follows:

6) “Do Not Track” and minors

The Site does not respond to browser Do Not Track (DNT) signals. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.

7) How long do cookies last?

Cookie lifetimes vary by purpose and provider (from session‑only to persistent cookies that may last months). We also retain related logs as needed to operate the Site and meet legal obligations (see Privacy Policy  – Retention).

8) Changes to this Cookies Policy

We may update this Cookies Policy from time to time to reflect operational, legal, or regulatory changes. The “Last Updated” date shows when it was most recently revised.
